Analyst II/III, Asset Accounting (R17-253)

Asset Accounting Analyst II/III (R17-253)

In this position, you will provide accounting services, including recording, researching, and analyzing transactions. Provide analytical expertise to assigned operating areas and company management, including research and analysis of standard accounting issues. Support internal controls (SOX 404) and governance policies. Provide analysis, problem investigation and resolution to ensure information is available for decision making. Provide consulting support on accounting treatment of activities.

Support our journey by:

  • Provide accounting and general business analytical expertise in assigned functional areas (e.g. Fixed Asset Accounting, Capital Projects, , Generation Plants, etc.) including, review and analysis, research of accounting issues and transaction budgeting.
  • Develop working understanding of processes in functional areas in order to make informed decisions about the proper accounting treatment of activities.
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries and reconciliations in assigned functional area.
  • Perform monthly analysis on results of operations, including actual to budget and actual to forecast comparisons.
  • Provide forecast updates for assigned accounts.
  • Update and provide ongoing support of internal control guidelines (SOX 404) and accounting policies.
  • Support the annual budgeting process for assigned areas

Bring the following skills to our team:

  • Typically a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Typically three years or more years of work experience in Accounting or related field.
  • Knowledge of accounting including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic knowledge of regulatory accounting theory and practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, work well under pressure and perform multiple tasks by organizing and prioritizing complex work.
  • Strong analytical skills for researching accounting materials and problem solving in complex and ambiguous situations to formulate concise recommendations.
  • Effective human relations skills and ability to work with a variety of different people.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Substantial ability to be flexible and a propensity to thrive in an environment of change.
  • Experience with major enterprise financial applications (PeopleSoft, PowerPlan and OBIEE desired)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and finance business processes and systems.
  • Basic knowledge of process improvement methodology.

The successful candidate will typically a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field and three years or more years of work experience in Accounting or related field. This position will be filled at either the Analyst II or III Level based on personal qualifications and years of professional experience (Analyst II ~ 3-5 years, Analyst III ~ 5+ years).
