Cost Accountant
Franz Family Bakeries is a large privately owned, independent wholesale baking company, proudly operating in the Pacific Northwest since 1906. We produce a variety of different bakery products which are made with quality ingredients and are the best in the marketplace. Franz is based in Portland, Oregon and is seeking a new addition to our team.
Duties:
- Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
- Analyze data collected and record results.
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
- Analyze audits of costs and prepare reports.
- Generate estimates of new and proposed product costs.
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products and/or services.
- Maintain Cost Accounting System.
- Assist in Month end close of the General Ledger
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor cycle count.
- Reconcile finished goods inventory.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
