Environment, Health & Safety Intern

As part of this Internship, you will learn how to find, read and interpret regulations. Receive training on risk assessment and management, help develop training.

Site Noise Level Testing (High Priority, 3-4 weeks) – Complete noise level monitoring for entire site. Update current data based on findings (most recent data dated 2013). Complete dosimetry testing as needed where noise levels indicate possible over 12-hour OSHA action Level.ERT Equipment inventory and inspections.
Confined Space Audit ~2 weeks) - Review and update our confined spaces inventory database. CSR Equipment inspection.   
Fall-Protection Equipment Inventory update and inspection.
Fab Fire Extinguisher Safety Shower location Audit – Report and recommendations
Site Crane and Hoist audit.
Task JHA Support.
Ladder Safety Inventory and Audit program
Behavior Based Safety Support.
Haz-Com training support and Fab Label Audit
Stormwater BMP (1-2 days) Help with assembling of “Rain Gardens” and installing any other experimental BMP’s.
Files Reorganization (On-going) – Organize files to a compliance matching format.
Room Safety Audits (High Priority, 2-4 weeks) - Room by room account of non-H&S owned safety equipment (safety showers, fire extinguishers, spill kits, PPE, etc.), chemicals in use & storage, and safety compliance. Performing these audits will better prepare us for state and local compliance inspections as well as give us a chance to update our online resource maps.
Update Siltronic On-line Safety Resource Maps (Moderate Priority, 1-2 weeks) - Update on-line resource maps based on results of Site Hazard Survey and Room Safety Audits.
Site Signage and Hazard Warnings (High Priority, ~2 weeks) – Review sight hazard signage (NFPA, labels) to assure it is accurate and visible. Verify all tanks are labeled.
HR Support – Employee Medical File Review (as time allows, 3-5 days) - Company medical records need to be reviewed. Terminated employee files need to be removed and placed in storage by year. New employee files need to be generated, I-9 reorganization.
