Child Care Teacher
Job Opening: School Age Before and After School Teacher
Location: Salem and surrounding area
We are looking for students interested in a part-time position working with our before and after school elementary students. We are a non-profit organization and provide a warm, nurturing, fun and safe environment.
Minimum Job Qualifications & Requirements
-Must have at least one year of education and/or experience in early childhood education OR related field.
-Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children.
-Evidence of emotional maturity and stability.
-Must complete First Aid & CPR certificate, Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment
- Clear a criminal history background check through Office of Child Care.
-Dependable
- Be responsible for and supervise a designated group of children.
Job Duties
-Maintain good communication with parents and make each parent feel at ease.
-To assist Site Director in planning monthly activities and offer suggestions.
-Interact, initiate and encourage children in their involvement in activities.
-Able to work split shift in a public school environment.
-To help children control behavior using a positive, appropriate approach, always using a consistent technique.
-Assist in meeting the emotional needs of the children. To provide nurturing while respecting individual independence.
